Outdoor Wedding Venue
Are you thinking about holding your wedding in the North County, San Diego area? San Diego is one of the sunniest places in the US. On average, there are 220 sunny days each year. So you picked a great area for an outdoor wedding.
Would you like a venue that is not only beautiful but also unique? If so, check out the San Diego Botanic Garden. You can hold your wedding ceremony and reception at the gardens, and never leave to take photos elsewhere, either. The gardens make a beautiful backdrop.
Any Size Wedding
Whether you'd like a small, intimate wedding that includes those who are closest to you, or a larger wedding with 300 of your closest friends, the gardens can accommodate you.
Surrounded by tiled and adobe walls, the Walled Garden can accommodate up to 180 seated guests at your ceremony and 72 seated at tables for the ceremony. Having your ceremony in the walled garden means framing your wedding with a beautiful view. The historic Larabee House nearby adds another layer of character and is available for a variety of events.
The Victorian Gazebo Lawn is in the center of the gardens. It's a large lawn surrounded by trees and greenery. The gazebo itself provides the perfect backdrop and the opportunity for a quiet moment between you and your fiance after the ceremony.
The lawn can accommodate up to 300 seated guests during your ceremony and up to 200 guests seated at tables for the reception. Imagine dancing your first dance under the open sky.
Lawn House Garden can hold 60 seated guests for the ceremony and the same number seated at tables. If you plan to hold a cocktail reception, then you there is plenty of room for up to 150 guests.
The Lawn House Garden is a multi-level, gated area that ensures you and your guests' privacy. It's located adjacent to the Palm Canyon Rain Forest, which means that you can hear the soothing sounds of the waterfall in the rain forest, as well as see the beautiful tropical plants in the background.
Ask about the Waterfall View Deck for showers. It holds up to thirty guests.
Music and Dancing in Outdoor Spaces
Hire only the best to provide the soundtrack for your outdoor wedding. How do you know if someone is the best? Start by asking about their past experience. Ask how many outdoor weddings they have DJ'd. Look at their reviews.
Lighting and sound for outdoor weddings requires a different setup. Sound (and lights) in an indoor venue bounces off of surfaces such as walls and ceilings. In an outdoor space, there isn't anything for the sound or light to bounce off of. So, it's important to hire a professional who understands the differences and the nuances of providing quality sound outdoors, and has the equipment to make the appropriate adjustments.
If you have your heart set on an outdoor space such as the gardens, ask the venue who they recommend as vendors. They will know who has worked well in the space and who hasn't. Many outdoor venues must follow the local noise ordinances and prefer to work with DJs who have experience following the guidelines.

It's Your Day
No matter where you hold your wedding or who you hire to provide you with music, your wedding is about you. Choose someone who understands that and makes an effort to get to know you. Choose someone whose tastes align with yours whether that be the caterer, photographer, or florist. Your day should reflect who you are.
