Kim and Myles knew exactly what they wanted for their bohemian wedding in Temecula Wine Country and their style and blended perfectly with our style at Behind the DJ Booth.
They found us on greenweddingshoes.com where we are a preferred vendor. They valued the fact that we want the music that we play at their wedding to speak to who they are as a couple and how they want to celebrate on their day.
A lot of weddings in Temecula (located in wine country) are destination weddings. This one was no exception. Guests traveled from Orange County (California), Los Angeles, Northern California, and the Netherlands.
The wedding reception took place outside next to a small historic building. The area surrounding the space was filled with trees, open space, and lit with bistro lights. Because of the laid back romantic vibe, for the cocktail hour and dinner music, Michael played music that complemented their love for indie and alternative music along the lines of Tame Impala, M83, of Monsters and Men, Alt-J, and Jason Mraz. Each of the artists and the related songs played had an airy, relaxed sound.
For the dancing portion...the mood changed to a legit dance party. Some of the artists played included Calvin Harris, Diplo, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Major Lazer. Everyone kicked it into gear and had a great time jamming out on the dancefloor. Some of the guys even started breakdancing and at one point the bridal party threw confetti in the air during one of the dance sets. The pictures were epic!!
One of my favorite moments was when the guests sang along to a live mashup of "Forever Young" by Alphaville (80s rock ballad) to "Young Forever" by Jay-Z (hip-hop).
